Abraham, who turns 22 next week, has signed a four-year contract with the Swiss champions having first come to prominence when Argentina won the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He made 69 top-flight appearances for Independiente before a loan spell last season with Spanish second division outfit Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
Roma experience
Unal, 18, arrives at St. Jakob-Park from promoted AC Bellinzona having gained experience in 2007/08 with a stint in Roma's youth team, under an arrangement between the Serie A club and his former side. His contract runs until 2011. Basel, who last competed in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2002/03, enter the second qualifying round this time with a tie against IFK Göteborg or S.S. Murata.
