Kaunas tie
AaB had won the home leg of this tie 5-0 so a turnaround at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica always seemed unlikely, even more so after Anders Due and Casper Rizart scored in each half, though Mladen Bojić did manage a consolation for the first-time UEFA Champions League entrants. The Danish title-holders are aiming to follow up their 1995/96 group stage campaign but must now get past the team that eliminated Rangers FC on Tuesday.

Win confirmed
Modriča's hopes were slim but they were determined to put up a good showing and Bojić came close on six minutes. However, AaB did not take long to add to their first-leg tally when Due's long-range free-kick caught out home goalkeeper Emir Hadžidulbić. The match remained closely-fought but AaB struck again just past the hour mark through Rizart. There was something, however, for the home fans to cheer ten minutes later thanks to Bojić.
