Midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has signed a one-year contract extension with Juventus, tying him to the Turin club until 2013.
'Group stage goal'
The Malian international helped Juventus finish third in Serie A after joining from Liverpool FC in January, and his new deal confirms his importance to coach Claudio Ranieri. "I am delighted with the agreement," said Sissoko. "Juventus are a big club and, thanks to my team-mates, it has been easy to settle here. Now we have to concentrate on our goal of reaching the [UEFA] Champions League group stage." The Bianconeri will take on FC Artmedia Petržalka in the third qualifying round on 13 and 27 August. Sissoko made 15 Serie A appearances last season. He had moved to Liverpool from Valencia CF in 2005.
