FA Cup final
The Dutch centre-back has signed a contract until 2012, ending a three-season stay in Cardiff which included an appearance in May's English FA Cup final. The 24-year-old Loovens, who started his career in his homeland with Feyenoord, said: "It really is a tremendous honour to sign for a club of Celtic's stature. I am really looking forward to playing for a team that has such an incredible history and and passionate supporters.
'Great success'
"The club has enjoyed great success in recent years, winning titles and cups in Scotland and doing well in the Champions League. I am looking forward to the challenges here and hope to play my part in further honours. I just can't wait to get started." Celtic have also signed Georgios Samaras, Pat McCourt and Marc Crosas this summer. Meanwhile, Denmark midfielder Thomas Gravesen, 32, is to leave the club after failing to establish himself following a move from Real Madrid CF in 2006.
