Chelsea take Fábio Paim on loan

Sporting Clube de Portugal midfielder Fábio Paim has joined Chelsea FC on loan until the end of the season with the English club having the option to buy in the future.

Loan stints
The 20-year-old Portuguese youth international forward, who came through Sporting's academy, played his first senior season in 2006/07 on loan in his home country's second division with CD Olivais e Moscavide. The following campaign was spent at CD Trofense and FC Paços de Ferreira. Chelsea have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season should they desire.
