Spanish influx
The Istanbul side have not announced contract details for the 33-year-old who becomes Fenerbahçe's second Spanish recruit, after Daniel Güiza, since Luis Aragonés became coach this summer. "I was aware of Fenerbahçe's reputation before I came," Josico said. "I know about the passionate fans and the great expectations at the club. It is an advantage for me that Luis Aragonés is here along with Spanish-speaking players like Daniel Güiza and Diego Lugano."
European experience
The former Albacete Balompié and UD Las Palmas man joined Villarreal in 2002 and went on to make 150 Liga appearances for the Yellow Submarine, who reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals in 2004 and the last four of the UEFA Champions League two years later. Josico's arrival helps to fill the gap left by Turkish international midfielder Mehmet Aurélio, who has moved to Real Betis Balompié.
