Left-back Cole to miss Roma visit

Chelsea FC left-back Ashley Cole will miss Tuesday's UEFA Champions League visit to AS Roma after being diagnosed with a small muscle tear to his calf that will keep the England defender out for seven to ten days.

Muscle tear
The 27-year-old England defender has been diagnosed with a small muscle tear, picked up in Saturday's 5-0 defeat of Sunderland AFC, and according to the club will be out for "seven to ten days". Victory in Rome, where Wayne Bridge is likely to deputise, would keep Chelsea top of Group A and could clinch a knockout berth.
