FC Girondins de Bordeaux goalkeeper Ulrich Ramé will be out for a month after suffering another groin injury in his side's 1-0 loss at AS Nancy-Lorraine on Saturday.
Key games
The 36-year-old was taken off after 20 minutes against Nancy and missed Bordeaux's 2-1 win against CFR 1907 Cluj in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. He will now sit out the next six games as well, ruling him out of the visit of Ligue 1 leaders Olympique Lyonnais on 16 November and Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League ten days after that.
Valverde impresses
An MRI scan revealed that although the same muscle was damaged in the game against Nancy the injury is different to the one the former French international sustained in late September. Matthieu Valverde stepped in for Ramé in Cluj and produced two brilliant second-half saves to ensure his side a second successive victory against the Romanian champions which puts them back in contention in Group A. Bordeaux are third in the section, level on points with second-placed AS Roma and one behind leaders Chelsea FC.
