Broken leg robs Dynamo of Romanchuk

Defender Olexandr Romanchuk is the latest addition to FC Dynamo Kyiv's increasing injury list after being ruled out for at least six months with a double fracture of his left leg sustained during a Ukrainian Cup fixture.

Nasty injury
The 24-year-old right-back was charging down the flank when he was felled in a challenge by Dmytro Nazarenko in his side's 4-1 win at FC Stal Alchevsk on Wednesday night. The twice-capped Ukrainian international was immediately taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken tibia and fibia in his left leg. Romanchuk has not played in the UEFA Champions League this season, but has made five appearances in the league.

Worrying signs
The defender's injury leaves Dynamo further depleted as they look ahead to their Matchday 5 trip to Arsenal FC on 25 November. Midfielder Miloš Ninković, centre-back Taras Mikhalik and goalkeeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy have all been signed off with injuries in recent days, but coach Yuri Semin received some encouragement last night, with Carlos Corrêa playing his first game of the season and fellow midfielder Oleh Gusev returning to the starting lineup.
