Already without Franck Ribéry, Luca Toni and Tim Borowski, sidelined due to a bruised shinbone, achilles problem and thigh injury respectively, coach Jürgen Klinsmann could now be denied the services of defender Daniel Van Buyten and winger Hamit Altıntop. Van Buyten, who scored Bayern's equaliser on 20 minutes, turned his ankle in the pre-match warm-up but continued until 14 minutes from time. "It got worse as the match went on," said the Belgian international. "My ankle was really unstable by the end which is why I had to make way." Altıntop, scorer of Bayern's third on 34 minutes, was withdrawn with 25 minutes remaining and a preliminary diagnosis by the club's medical staff has indicated a torn right hamstring. If confirmed, Altıntop faces another two weeks out of action, having been limited to just seven Bundesliga appearances this season after foot surgery.
