R. Standard de Liège are celebrating a "real windfall" after winning the race to sign highly-regarded Tiago Ronaldo from Portuguese club Vitória SC.

Youthful outlook
The right-footed midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Belgian titleholders, with a further 12-month option. "It was a real windfall for us to be able to sign him," Standard general director Pierre François said of a player who was reportedly being tracked by FC Porto. "He fits perfectly with our policy of signing young talents. He is a player for the future." Les Rouches, who will play in the UEFA Champions League group stage this term, have also brought in 19-year-old forward Moussa Traoré from Burkinabe club CFO Ouagadougou on a season's loan.
