UEFA Champions League group-stage contenders Sevilla FC have completed the signing of Ivory Coast midfielder Didier Zokora from Tottenham Hotspur FC for a fee reported to be in the region of €9m.

Energetic midfielder
The 28-year-old has agreed terms on a four-year contract at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and becomes Sevilla's first signing ahead of the 2009/10 campaign. A part of the Tottenham side that won the 2008 League Cup, Zokora made 88 Premier League appearances during a three-season stay at White Hart Lane. Described as "a hard-working and versatile player who is full of running" by Sevilla sporting director Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, the former AS Saint-Etienne and KRC Genk man has been capped 68 times by Ivory Coast. "He's just what we needed to complete the excellent midfield we believe we now have," Rodríguez Verdejo added.
