Panathinaikos FC will pay IFK Göteborg €450,000 for the services of Sweden Under-21 captain Mattias Bjärsmyr, who moves to Athens on a four-year contract.

Fifth new face
The 23-year-old centre-back leaves IFK after four seasons with the club, whom he joined from Husqvarna FF in 2005 and helped to the Allsvenskan title two years later. Bjärsmyr played every minute of Sweden's run to the UEFA European Under-21 Championship semi-finals on home soil last month and is the fifth new signing of the summer for Panathinaikos, who enter the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round.
