Manchester United FC will be without new signing Gabriel Obertan for the first three months of the season and the English champions have also agreed terms with Real Valladolid CF for the sale of striker Manucho.

Medical check
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that 20-year-old French winger Obertan, signed from FC Girondins de Bordeaux earlier this month, could miss the UEFA Champions League group stage because of an unspecified fitness problem. Speaking in Kuala Lumpur on the Old Trafford club's Asian tour, Sir Alex said: "[He] will miss the first three months of the season. We noticed this injury in a medical check but it is not a problem for us."

Manucho agreement
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Angola forward Manucho is due to travel to Spanish Liga outfit Valladolid to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms after United accepted a fee for his services. He joined United from Angolan side Atlético Petróleos Luanda in January 2008 but was loaned first to Panathinaikos FC and then, last season, to Hull City AFC. He made a solitary substitute appearance for the Red Devils.
