Midfielder Olexandr Aliyev is likely to miss the start of FC Dynamo Kyiv's UEFA Champions League group stage campaign as he recovers from ankle ligament surgery.

Ankle problem
Capped six times by Ukraine, Aliyev was injured 19 minutes into Dynamo's victory against FC Vorskla Poltava in the Ukrainian Super Cup on 11 July, with his side prevailing 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw. He is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks. Second-choice goalkeeper Olexandr Rybka has suffered a similar injury and has been booked in for an operation in Germany in the coming days. Ukrainian champions Dynamo start their group stage campaign on Matchday 1, 15/16 September.
