El Kaddouri out of Dynamo openers

FC Dynamo Kyiv full-back Badr El Kaddouri will miss the start of the UEFA Champions League group stage after being ruled out for at least two months following ankle surgery.

The 28-year-old Moroccan international was injured in the 6-0 league win against SC Tavriya Simferopol on 25 July, one of three victories from as many games for Ukrainian champions Dynamo so far this season. After being operated upon in Germany, El Kaddouri has returned to Kiev and will spend the next month in plaster before resuming individual training, but seems set to miss Dynamo's first two UEFA Champions League group games on 15/16 and 29/30 September. "It is a pity I am ruled out of such important games, but that's football," El Kaddouri said. "However, I know that a good spell will follow a bad one. I always believe in better things."
