Arsenal FC have secured 21-year-old pair Denilson and Nicklas Bendtner on undisclosed long-term contracts as reward, says manager Arsène Wenger, for "outstanding" campaigns last season.
Double deal
The Gunners have had a quiet summer on the transfer market but, following the lead of Robin van Persie in July, the maturing Denilson and Bendtner have both committed to the long term. "My development since I joined back in 2006 has really pleased me, and I just want to build on last season's performances. It's a special time to be part of this club," said Denilson, an €8m signing from São Paulo FC three years ago. Wenger said the Brazilian midfielder was "outstanding" last term, a view he echoed in relation to Bendtner after the Danish international striker himself penned a new deal. "Nicklas has impressed me highly with his application and determination over the last season," Wenger told Arsenal's website. "His all-round contribution has improved and will continue to do so." Bendtner has been at the club since 2004.
