Two-year deal
The former Brazilian international, 56, has signed a two-year contract one day after the departure of Temuri Ketsbaia, himself only appointed in May after leaving Anorthosis Famagusta FC. Zico, who was confirmed as coach in time to watch Olympiacos kick off their Group H campaign at home to the Dutch champions, left PFC CSKA Moskva last Thursday after nine months in charge.
Coaching career
He previously enjoyed league title-winning spells at Uzbekistani side FC Bunyodkor and Fenerbahçe SK, following up the latter success in 2007 by reaching the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Before that Zico coached the Japanese national side following a spell at the helm of Kashima Antlers, where he ended his distinguished playing career. His new club have four points from two Greek Super League games as they aim for their sixth straight title.
