FC Internazionale Milano full-back Davide Santon is likely to miss the rest of the UEFA Champions League group phase after picking up a knee injury during Italy Under-21s' 4-0 victory in Luxembourg on Tuesday night.
Operation due
The 18-year-old suffered a knock to his right knee during the first half of the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier, and underwent tests in Milan on Wednesday to assess the extent of the damage. Santon will undergo an operation in the coming days and will be sidelined for around five weeks, ruling him out of Inter's final two outings in Group F. The Serie A leaders are top of their UEFA Champions League section ahead of their trip to face FC Barcelona next Tuesday.
