Turkish champions Bursaspor have signed left-back Gökçek Vederson from Fenerbahçe SK on a free transfer, with the 28-year-old signing a three-year contract with his new club.

"I opted to join Bursaspor because they'll be playing in the UEFA Champions League and have a successful coach in Ertuğrul Sağlam," Vederson said. "My aim is to enjoy a title success here and to be called up to the Turkish national team."

Vederson was born in Brazil but gained Turkish citizenship in March 2007. Bursaspor will be his third Turkish club, having first joined Ankaraspor AŞ in 2004 before moving to Fenerbahçe at the start of the 2007/08 campaign. During his three seasons at Fenerbahçe, Vederson gained a reputation as a hard-working wing-back, scoring three times in 71 league appearances for the club.

Last season Bursaspor became the first team outside Istanbul to win the league since Trabzonspor's success in 1984. They have qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time while Fenerbahçe, who finished as runners-up, enter the competition in the third qualifying round.
