UC Sampdoria have signed goalkeeper Gianluca Curci from AC Siena for an undisclosed fee.
No contract details have been released for the 24-year-old former AS Roma player but Curci will replace Luca Castellazzi and Marco Storari who have both left the Genoa club since the end of last season.
Curci was Siena's No1 during the past two campaigns, although he was unable to save the Tuscan outfit from relegation last term. Sampdoria finished fourth in Serie A in 2009/10 yet have since lost Castellazzi to champions FC Internazionale Milano while Storari returned to AC Milan after a six-month loan.
A product of Roma's youth system, Curci made his Serie A debut in 2004. The Italian Under-21 international won the Coppa Italia in 2007 and 2008 before swapping the Stadio Olimpico for Siena in the summer of 2008. Sampdoria will own half of his playing licence with Roma retaining 50 per cent. The Blucerchiati will play in the UEFA Champions League play-offs on 17/18 and 24/25 August.
