Carlo Ancelotti was delighted to see Nicolas Anelka score twice in Chelsea FC's 4-1 Group F win at MŠK Žilina, with home coach Pavel Hapal needing no further proof of the quality of football on show in the UEFA Champions League.
Pavel Hapal, Žilina coach
We have to remember that Chelsea are one of the best teams in the world and they played very well tonight. They made very quick moves and were very clinical. That was the main difference between the teams, because we matched them at times.
You could see there is a huge difference between the teams, especially in terms of pace and passing. Everybody can see what quality they have. For us it was a footballing lesson; we saw the way the modern game is going. We lost, but I am not disappointed. We lost to a stronger team. It's a shame we didn't get a second goal, because we had a few chances to score again.
Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea manager
We started very well in this group and created a lot of chances. I was especially delighted with our game in front of the Žilina goal. It was a very nice evening for Anelka. He scored twice and he was the best player on the pitch. He didn't need to create any more chances today; he played effectively and this was the key to our victory. The way the home team played was no surprise for me
