Oleguer is a doubt for AFC Ajax's UEFA Champions League return against AJ Auxerre on 3 November after breaking his nose in the 2-1 triumph over the French club on Tuesday.
The defender is likely to be sidelined for two weeks following the incident in the second half of the Group G meeting at the Amsterdam ArenA. Oleguer, who had been introduced on the hour for Miralem Sulejmani, sustained the injury in a collision with Auxerre forward Dennis Oliech but, after treatment, was able to carry on.
"That was very brave of him," said Ajax coach Martin Jol, while a club statement added that the 30-year-old might be able play with a protective mask "depending on the recovery speed". Ajax are third in the section, level on points with second-placed AC Milan after three matches.
