AS Roma are expected to be without Matteo Brighi for three weeks after the midfielder suffered a thigh injury during Saturday's 2-0 Serie A win against US Lecce.
Brighi, who came off seven minutes from time at the Stadio Olimpico, had a scan on Monday which revealed muscle damage to his left thigh. He therefore misses the Giallorossi's trip to FC Basel 1893 on Wednesday, when they will seek to add to their three Group E points having lost 3-1 to the Swiss side on Matchday 3.
Claudio Ranieri was already missing midfielders David Pizarro and Rodrigo Taddei for the Basel fixture, the latter of whom will also face a struggle to be fit for the Matchday 5 encounter against group leaders FC Bayern München.
