Danish champions FC København have signed Johan Absalonsen on a free transfer from Superliga rivals Odense BK.
The 25-year-old winger has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the unbeaten league leaders. "I have had four fantastic years at OB for which I am grateful," said Absalonsen, who has played twice for Denmark. "Now I am with FCK because they play for the championship every year. They have the best team in Denmark and trying to achieve an important role in this team will be a huge personal challenge for me."
København coach Ståle Solbakken said: "Johan Absalonsen is an extremely strong player who has often caused us great trouble when we have played against him. He is a courageous and intelligent player, and I hope that we are going to benefit from his skills."
Absalonsen started his career at B 1913 Odense before joining Brøndby IF in 2003, where he claimed the Danish double in 2005. A year later he moved to OB, scoring 18 times in 122 league matches and winning his second Danish Cup in 2007.
FCK, who sit 19 points clear of second-placed OB at the winter break, welcome Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on 22 February with the return leg on 16 March.
