Montenegro defender Stefan Savić has joined Manchester City FC just two days after Gaël Clichy's signing and said: "I watch the Premier League and I know it's the place to be."

Manchester City FC have continued their preparations for a debut UEFA Champions League campaign with the signing of Montenegro defender Stefan Savić.

The 20-year-old joins from FK Partizan for a reported €6.7m and has agreed a contract running until summer 2015. Capped six times at senior level, including Montenegro's goalless draw with England at Wembley in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying last October, he arrives 48 hours after French international left-back Gaël Clichy came in from Arsenal FC.

"I watch the Premier League all the time and I know it's the place to be so I am just looking forward to helping this club achieve great things," said former BSK Borča player Savić, who had a trial with Arsenal before his 2010 switch to Serbia and Partizan.

Savić, who represented the Belgrade outfit in last season's UEFA Champions League and aided them to a domestic double, added: "We have an incredible stadium and I've seen how passionate the City fans are many times on TV. Montenegro play England later this year so I'm expecting to have some great banter with the England lads. I'm just really happy to be a City player."
