Trabzonspor AŞ are on top in Group B after Gustavo Colman's penalty 15 minutes from the end earned them a 1-1 draw against LOSC Lille Métropole in the first UEFA Champions League group stage game at the Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium. Lille were left a little nonplussed by their fifth successive competititive draw, having led through Moussa Sow, while their hosts will take courage from this escape act.

Gustavo Colman, Trabzonspor midfielder
During the first 45 minutes, nothing went as planned. All of us struggled, including me, and we were lucky to be just one goal behind. During the break the coach told us to put pressure on Lille, and that proved to be the right approach. Not having lost yet is a great achievement, but it does not guarantee anything. In the UEFA Champions League there is no such thing as a easy game.

Inter are still the team to beat. There are four games remaining and they still have a chance of going through. We need to win all of our home matches and must work hard to do so. It is a big honour to score Trabzonspor's first Champions League group stage goal at the Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium. I have been in a goal drought for a long time but I feel good now.

Tolga Zengin, Trabzonspor goalkeeper
It's good to save a point after going down 1-0 to Lille. If you can't win, you shouldn't get beaten. The away game against CSKA Moskva will be hard and any team can beat any other team in this group, but we believe we can go through.

Halil Altıntop, Trabzonspor forward
I am a team player. Everybody knows me as a goalscorer but if you watch my games I play closer to the midfield. I put in a good performance in the second half and I'm sure we'll function as a real team very soon. We are in the driving seat and if we can take advantage of this we can qualify from the group. We overestimated Lille in the first half but after conceding the goal we realised that fact and we showed how good a team we are. We are happy with a point.

If you had told me before the start of this campaign that Trabzonspor would be top of Group B after two games, I would have thought it was a joke. But now we are going to Russia to play CSKA Moskova as proud leaders. I think from now on we will play with increasing confidence.

Florent Balmont, Lille midfielder
Of course I'm happy being named Man of the Match, but I would gladly trade this title for a win. And actually, we deserved three points. It is really sad we couldn't get that second goal. That would have sealed our victory for sure.

Joe Cole, Lille forward
We fully deserved to win this game, so you can imagine morale was low in the dressing room. Two points after two games is definitely not what we expected, but there is only one thing to do and that is to work hard. Exactly what we did today, but with more efficiency. The UEFA Champions League is not over yet for Lille.
