We could have won, but we could have lost it too. Inter had eight players who lifted the Champions League trophy in 2010. They are more experienced. Still, we are second to Inter in the group, which is an advantage. It's not easy to keep going, to negotiate both the Champions League and Turkish Super League while playing good football.

The uncertainty in the group continues. In five matches none of our opponents have managed to dominate the game, and that's important. Getting into the Champions League was a nice surprise, a bit of excitement: the surprise goes on ...

Claudio Ranieri, Inter coach
We started this campaign with a home defeat so we did very well to qualify with a game to spare; it wasn't easy. I'm satisfied with our performance tonight as we could have lost. We could also have won considering the chances both teams had. However, I'm really pleased with my players' commitment, especially because we knew we were already through [following LOSC Lille Métropole's earlier victory at PFC CSKA Moskva].

I'm also happy with Ricardo Álvarez's performance. He is a player who can sometimes seem slow from the stands but when he tries to dribble past an opponent, most of the time he manages to. He is a great talent and just needed a goal like this. He played very well and I'm sure he will continue on this path.

We seem to play better in the Champions League compared to Serie A. Now I hope we can also improve domestically but Trabzonspor fans can rest assured that we will be taking the last game against CSKA seriously. We want to close out the campaign in style at San Siro.
