SSC Napoli have completed the signing of Spain defender Raúl Albiol on a four-year contract.

Albiol joins Napoli from Real Madrid CF, where he spent four seasons and made 81 Spanish Liga appearances. The 27-year-old, who was part of the Spain squad that triumphed at UEFA EURO 2008 and UEFA EURO 2012, won one league title during his time in the Spanish capital. He also lists Valencia CF and Getafe CF among his former clubs.

Albiol is the second player to join the Partenopei from Madrid this summer, following in the footsteps of José Callejón. Rafael Benítez's team will discover their UEFA Champions League group stage opponents when the draw is made in Monaco on 29 August.
