Pick your team for the second legs!

It was a frustrating night for my team despite the respectable 58 points earned, and I certainly hope for better luck when the sides meet again this week for the return legs of their quarter-finals.

Great goalscorers like Gonzalo Higuaín and Luis Suárez missed chances they usually take with their eyes closed in the game between Juventus and Barcelona, while Fabinho missed his first penalty after 15 successful attempts from the spot. I was already grumpy enough by the time Arturo Vidal blazed his own spot kick over the bar!

Fortunately my captain Antoine Griezmann scored the penalty he earned himself in the game between Atlético Madrid and Leicester, meaning he gave 16 important points to my team. I was pleased at half-time with my decision to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with the French forward, a bit less so at the final whistle when Ronaldo had scored two for Madrid in Munich.

Anyway, I also got good news from my team. Juventus's clean sheet against Barcelona meant valuable points for Gianluigi Buffon – what a couple of saves the veteran goalkeeper made – and Alex Sandro. And there were the two goals scored by youngster Kylian Mbappé for Monaco in Dortmund.

Now it's time to focus on the return leg. I will certainly have to replace Fabinho, who's suspended when Monaco host Dortmund. Ahead of the first legs, I thought Bayern were favourites against Real Madrid. Now, after the reigning champions won 2-1 in Munich, I have to make some adjustments with the semi-finals in mind. Sergio Ramos is always involved in the deciding phases of the competition and I will definitely welcome him into my team.

I also have midfielder Piotr Zieliński to replace as I kept him despite Napoli's elimination because I did not want to exceed the five free transfers in the previous round. I might use the same criteria and add another Real Madrid player like Toni Kroos, but Monaco's Thomas Lemar could be an interesting option as well as I expect another game with many goals between the Ligue 1 side and Dortmund.
