Everything you need to know as last season's finalists go head to head again in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

Reporter's view: Two teams with a similar spirit and mentality, who faced each other in the Cardiff final just ten months ago. Cristiano Ronaldo is on a hot streak to say the least (22 goals in his last 13 games) but Juve's defence is always tough to break down. The Bianconeri will miss the educated feet of the suspended Miralem Pjanić, but they are hardly short of weapons in a tie which the reigning champions enter as only slight favourites in my opinion.

Zidane: Six of the best for Madrid and Juventus

We are up against the Champions League favourites – to beat them would be a feather in our cap. This is a gala night for us, and our fans must be proud of a team who have reached the final twice in the last three years. We need their support. I have watched the Cardiff final several times. We have improved in terms of handling difficult spells in a game compared with last season.

Zinédine Zidane, Real Madrid coach

It's a huge game for both teams. We are here to deliver a good performance, but the final in Cardiff has nothing to do with tomorrow's match and we will not think about that at all. I think Juventus and Madrid have similar mentalities. Actually, I think I learned a lot in that sense when I played here. Juve have been very strong for years. They are a complete side.
