Valencia CF's Miguel Ángel Angulo will miss the final two UEFA Champions League group stage matches.
The 27-year-old felt twinges in his left leg during Saturday's 2-0 Primera División win at Málaga CF and was taken off early in the second half. In a medical examination on Monday, the player was found to have suffered a tear to muscle fibres. Doctors have ruled Angulo out for three weeks, and in a few days he will begin physiotherapy.
Angulo will be absent from Valencia's remaining Group G games, at RSC Anderlecht on Wednesday and at home to Werder Bremen on 7 December. He joins Vicente Rodríguez and Roberto Ayala on the injury list, with Valencia needing six points from those fixtures to have any chance of progress.
