1
Chelsea FC became the first holders to have their trophy defence ended in the following season's group stage. Not only had the London club progressed from the initial group stage in all ten of their previous UEFA Champions League campaigns, their 16 goals made them the top scorers after six games of the competition proper.

4
Carlo Ancelotti became the second coach, after José Mourinho, to reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals with four different teams when Paris Saint-Germain FC qualified for the last eight.

4
FC Bayern München's victory in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley was Germany's seventh, taking them clear in fourth place in the all-time list of successes.

5
Five of those seven victories have been Bayern's. They now trail only Real Madrid CF (9) and AC Milan (7) on the all-time European Cup table, level in third with Liverpool FC.

6
Burak Yılmaz found the net six times for Galatasaray AŞ in the group stage – more in a single UEFA Champions League season than any other Turkish player – and finished the campaign with eight goals. Before his prolific streak, which constituted Galatasaray's first six goals of the campaign, Burak had not registered in 16 previous matches in the competition, including qualifying.

6
Zlatan Ibrahimović's matchday one goal against FC Dynamo Kyiv made him the first player to score for six different sides in the UEFA Champions League: AFC Ajax, Juventus, FC Internazionale Milano, FC Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG.

7
Bayern's 7-0 defeat of Barcelona was the biggest aggregate win in a UEFA Champions League semi-final.

10
Chelsea and CFR 1907 Cluj both finished with ten points, joining a small band of clubs who have failed to advance from a group stage on that total. Under the system of three points for a win, Dynamo Kyiv (1999/2000, second group stage, and 2004/05), Dortmund (2002/03, second group stage), PSV Eindhoven (2003/04), Olympiacos FC (2004/05), SV Werder Bremen (2006/07) and Manchester City FC (2011/12) all missed out despite collecting ten points.

15
Years between Jupp Heynckes's two UEFA Champions League successes at Real Madrid FC in 1998 and Bayern this season. That is the longest any coach has gone between two European Cup wins and he is only the fifth to lift the trophy with two different clubs.

16
Claudio Pizarro's 16-minute hat-trick against LOSC Lille on matchday four was the third fastest in UEFA Champions League history. It took record-holder Bafétimbi Gomis half that time to complete his treble for Olympique Lyonnais at GNK Dinamo Zagreb in the 2011/12 group stage.

17
Real Madrid CF came second in Group D to reach the UEFA Champions League knockout phase for the 17th time and the 16th season in succession. The Spanish giants last missed out in 1996/97 when they did not feature in the competition.

21
Celtic FC's 3-2 triumph at FC Spartak Moskva on matchday two was their first in 21 attempts on the road in the UEFA Champions League.

50
Cristiano Ronaldo became the fifth player to hit 50 UEFA Champions League goals with his effort in the first leg of Madrid's semi-final against Dortmund. Raúl González, Lionel Messi, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry are the others.

59
Messi's eight strikes this term took him to 59 UEFA Champions League goals, moving the Argentinian clear in second place in the all-time UEFA Champions League scoring chart, 12 behind Raúl.

89
The minute of the final in which Arjen Robben secured his place in competition history with Bayern's winning final goal.

100
On matchday five, Mourinho became just the fourth man to take charge of 100 matches in the UEFA Champions League. Arsène Wenger, Sir Alex Ferguson and Ancelotti are the others.

114
Sir Alex retired this month and of his 1,500 games at the Manchester United FC helm, a record 202 in the UEFA Champions League, including qualifiers. The only man to manage a century of European Cup wins (Arsène Wenger is second on 79), his tally of 114 includes four with Aberdeen FC.

567
Having lost all six group games in 2011/12, Dinamo Zagreb suffered more of the same in Group A, going down in their first five fixtures without scoring. However, with the prospect looming of them joining RC Deportivo La Coruña (2004/05) and Maccabi Haifa FC (2009/10) as the only teams not to register a group stage goal, Ivan Krstanović won a stoppage-time penalty against Dynamo on matchday six. The substitute got up to convert it, the equaliser, himself – Dinamo's first goal of the group in the 567th minute of their campaign, added time included.

6,000
Sergio Ramos's own goal in Madrid's 2-1 victory at Manchester United FC in the round of 16 second leg was the 6,000th goal in the UEFA Champions League, group stage to final.
