Nani, Sporting forward
Things are going well for me at the moment. I'm very involved in the matches and that's what I want – to contribute to the success of the team.

My goal was a lot of effort, dribbling past players and when I finally managed to score it was almost a relief. I celebrated like that because I have to think about the people I care about more, like my son, and I wanted to dedicate that goal to him.

Our first goal is to qualify from the group stage and then we'll see. We'll keep on fighting. We know that from the next stage on it's going to be even harder as the teams are much stronger but we must continue to give our all because we never know where we can go with this determination.

Marco Silva, Sporting coach
Our focus is on the Champions League and we want to go through to the last 16. Today only a victory mattered and we got that victory, justifiably. We did not start the second half well because we had had the game under control and conceded a childish goal near the interval, which allowed our opponents to regain confidence. We cannot keep making mistakes like that.

We were not as dominant at the start of the second half but then we scored the third goal and after that we could even have won by an even bigger margin. I am happy with the performance of all the players. We are collectively strong which makes individuals like Nani shine more often. Today he scored another great goal and we are happy for him.

Our goal is to go through in the Champions League and we took an important step towards that. Now we will go to London with lots of confidence. We will give our best against Chelsea and go into the game with confidence. The interruption was not easy for us, but we reacted well and we managed to score the third goal; that calmed the team.

Luka Zahović, Maribor forward
The match went exactly as we predicted. Unfortunately, Sporting scored very early but we have to admit that they were almost perfect. They played very well and showed all their quality.

We didn't play well in the first 30, 35 minutes and then it's hard for a team to fight back. We tried at the beginning of the second half and were the better team for a while but Sporting scored their third. Any team can have a bad match; we have to learn our lessons, hold our heads high and think positively. We are out of the Champions League but the battle to stay in Europe continues.

Ante Šimundža, Maribor coach
Between the first and second halves there was a big break, which meant we lost a little of the boost we gained with the goal we scored just before the interval. The fact Sporting were at home with their crowd behind them made it even more difficult. During the break we tried to stay tranquil and calm.

We started the second half well, with a high tempo, but then we lost a bit of concentration which allowed Sporting to score the third and clinch it. We are out of the Champions League now but we can still reach the Europa League and we will fight for it in our last match.

Jasmin Handanović, Maribor goalkeeper
We didn't play very well as a team as we weren't so compact and didn't play near enough to each other, allowing them too much space. They took advantage and deserved to win. Our goal gave us some hope and we started well in the second half. We had a lot of possession but then conceded a third from our mistake and that took the wind out of our sails.

Now it's on to the game against Schalke in front of our supporters. We have that advantage and we have to recover our strength and prepare as best we can. We have a great chance.
