Article body
Live Manager is a match specific game that allows you to make substitutions during live matches and earn points depending on player performances.
Picking your players
Selecting the initial three players
To participate in a match, you need to select three players that are eligible to start the match. There are no restrictions on player selection, and you can create teams for all matches in the fixture list.
Managing your team
Once you have created a team for a match, you can return before kick-off to make changes. Unlimited changes can be made to the team before the start of the match.
Deadline
Team creation and management is possible right up until the end of each match, including extra time if applicable. Your team will earn points from the moment the team is created.
Live substitutions
Once the match is live, you can start making substitutions to your team. You can make a maximum of three substitutions per match. Multiple substitutions can be made at the same time provided you have enough substitutions.
Once a substitution is made, the player coming on will start scoring points from the next minute of the match, and the player substituted out will stop scoring points from the minute they are substituted.
A player who is substituted out will not be eligible for substitution in the same match. Similarly, a player with a red card is not eligible for any form of substitution.
Scoring system
You will start scoring points once the match is live, and you will only score points when the performing player is part of your team. Your selected players will earn points during regulation time, added time and extra time; you will not earn points for penalty shoot-outs.
How the points work
| Action | Points |
| For playing at least 30 minutes | 2 |
| For playing at least 60 minutes |
4
Not conceding goals
A clean sheet is awarded for not conceding a goal whilst the player is in your team.
If a player has been substituted out (either in your team or in the match) when a goal is conceded, this will not affect any clean sheet bonus.
Red cards
If a player receives a red card, they will continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team. Red card deductions include any points deducted for yellow cards.
Assists
A player will be credited with an assist when they deliver the final pass, cross, header or shot which leads to the goal being scored. This will also apply to set pieces (corners, free-kicks, throw-ins etc).
In addition, an attempt which rebounds from the goal frame, the goalkeeper or a defender can be considered as an assist, if it leads directly to a goal.
When a pass, shot or cross by an attacker contributes to an own goal, an assist can be awarded to the attacker.
• Only one player can be credited with an assist per goal scored.
• No assist is awarded to a player winning a penalty.
• No assist is given to a player who creates his own goalscoring opportunity (e.g. solo run/dribble).
Minutes played
Minutes played are calculated on the basis of a full minute having been completed; for example, if a player is substituted in the 60th minute, he is judged to have played 59 minutes.
Others
Extra-time events count but penalty shoot-outs do not.
Leagues
Public leagues
After creating your squad, you will automatically enter into a number of leagues. These are:
- The global rank involving all registered players
- A country league for fellow players from your country of residence
- A club league of players who support the same UEFA Champions League club as you.
Private leagues
Private leagues are the heart and soul of the game, where you can compete against your friends, family and colleagues. Simply join or create a league and then send out the unique code to allow others to join.
If you are replaying the game from last season you can also restart or rejoin your previous leagues.
There's no limit on the number of teams in a single league but you can only be a part of a maximum of 20 private leagues.
