Son Heung-Min, Leverkusen forward
No, I don't [feel like the hero]. The whole team fought hard to win the three points. So I don't think I am the hero, the whole team is the hero.

It was certainly harder tonight [than the previous game against Zenit] because we played away. They are very strong at home, but we showed that we are a good team and that we can be successful.

There have been many [career highlights], but it was certainly something special to score my first double in the Champions League. And I think that's just extraordinary.

Bernd Leno, Leverkusen goalkeeper
Zenit played very well in the final minutes, but our defenders did their job well. This win is very important for us. I think we were the better team and this success is totally deserved.

I'm happy that I was able to help my team in two one-on-one situations [against Aleksandr Kerzhakov in the first half]. It was my duty, especially considering I was far from ideal in our last two matches. Our team fought so bravely and the main thing is three points earned.

Our chances of qualifying are even bigger now, but a knockout berth is not ours yet. We have two matches to play and we want to win the group. We want maximum points in these last matches and to win the group, which would help us to avoid the strongest teams in the draw.

Son on his 'special' night

Son is a very good friend of mine. I am very happy for him as he scored both our goals. He is a good guy and he has also proved today, in the UEFA Champions League, that he is a world-class player.

Roger Schmidt, Leverkusen coach
In this season's Champions League we are trying to play offensively, putting pressure on opponents. We like the style of Zenit, it is similar to ours, Zenit have a chance to prove themselves in their next games. All our group opponents are more or less equal, but Zenit are probably the best – after six games I will be able to say exactly.

I believe that to develop our talents is the right thing. Young players always have potential, they gain experience in big games like this. We are glad the youngsters in our team are progressing and we hope that this process will continue.

Villas-Boas talks of regret

André Villas-Boas, Zenit coach
The players were absolutely amazing, they showed great spirit, good attacking and creative skills. But unfortunately we were not lucky enough to get the ball into the net. And this is the only thing we feel down about. Otherwise it was a good competitive game between two teams who deserve to go through.

The main problem was that we were not lucky. We were good but could not take our chances the first half. The goal we scored was too late.

Everything was in perfect order: Hulk hitting the bar, the chances for Kerzhakov. We deserved to be in front at the break. Then Leverkusen scored from a good combination after a free-kick and from a counterattack. Leverkusen are a great team that played good football, we are the same but were just unlucky.

It is clear that our chances now depend largely on the other match in the group. In any case we should win our remaining matches. We have ambitions in the Russian league and in the Champions League, we want to be successful in both tournaments, let's see how the situation develops.
