Centre-back Matías Silvestre will sit out AC Milan's crucial UEFA Champions League game against AFC Ajax on Wednesday after he sustained his third injury of the campaign.
The Argentinian defender, who joined the Rossoneri on loan from FC Internazionale Milano in the summer, strained his left thigh in training and will undergo further tests in a fortnight. He therefore misses the Group H visit of Ajax, a match in which Milan must avoid defeat to qualify for the knockout stage.
The 29-year-old former Catania Calcio and US Città di Palermo player has made only three Serie A appearances this season after picking up a knee injury in September and a separate thigh problem in October.
