Mario Fillinger will miss Hamburger SV's concluding UEFA Champions League encounter with PFC CSKA Moskva next Wednesday due to a knee injury.
Six-week absence
The 22-year-old midfielder suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee in training and will undergo surgery tomorrow. The former Chemnitzer FC youngster will be sidelined for up to six weeks - the latest in a long list of injury problems that have undermined Hamburg's Group G campaign, in which they have lost all five games. Another casualty, Argentinian international Juan Pablo Sorín, is back in light training after a thigh tear and the defender could return for the weekend fixture against VfL Bochum 1848. CSKA Moskva must win in Hamburg to have any chance of progress from the group.
