Building for the future
Capello, whose own contract with the Italian champions expires in 2007, also denied press reports that he is set to leave the Delle Alpi at the end of the campaign, saying that he is already rebuilding the team for next season with the signing of Marchionni. "All the things I read about my future are rubbish," Capello said ahead of tonight's Coppa Italia tie against one of his former clubs, AS Roma. "I can confirm that Marchionni will join us in June. This is a concrete sign that I'm already working together with the board for next season."
Knee worry
Marchionni, 25, has scored three goals in 15 games this term after returning from the serious knee injury which restricted him to 24 appearances in 2004/05. The former Empoli FC man has been capped twice by Italy, having made his debut in a friendly against Poland in November 2003. His deal with Parma expires this summer.
