Juventus defender Robert Kovač could be out for up to a month after sustaining a knee injury in training.
Ligament damage
The problem had been hampering the Croatian international for a number of days before an examination revealed damage to the ligaments in his left knee. The injury is expected to rule the 31-year-old out for between three and four weeks – an untimely blow for Serie A leaders Juve as they head into a hectic period.
Chimenti departure
Veteran goalkeeper Antonio Chimenti will not be available either, after signing a two-year deal with Cagliari Calcio. The 35-year-old exits the Stadio Della Alpi after three seasons as understudy to Gianluigi Buffon, during which he made just seven league appearances before the summer arrival of Christian Abbiati saw his playing chances further reduced.
