Draw in Nyon
Little over three weeks since AC Milan were crowned Champions League winners in Manchester, the draw for next season's first two preliminary stages will be held at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland at 12.00CET on Friday. The UEFA Cup draw will follow two hours later.
Champions League experience
Celtic, the 1967 European champions and last month's beaten UEFA Cup finalists, are among several sides entering the second qualifying round with recent Champions League experience - notably RSC Anderlecht, Rosenborg BK and FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
The breakdown
Twenty teams are in the hat for the ten first qualifying round matches. The ten winners will join 18 sides in the 14 second qualifying round ties. In both rounds, a team from the seeded section of the draw will be paired with an unseeded side.
Match dates
All matches will be played over two legs. The first qualifying round will be played on 16 and 23 July and the second qualifying round on 30 July and 6 August.
