Back and forth for Cherchesov

Veteran Russian goalkeeper Stanislav Cherchesov has returned to FC Spartak Moscow.

FC Spartak Moscow have strengthened their squad after landing Russian international goalkeeper Stanislav Cherchesov on a six-month deal with the option of a year's extension.

Going forth
Cherchesov is following to the capital his fellow Russia goalkeeper Ruslan Nigmatullin who moved to PFC CSKA Moscow a week ago. The 38-year-old Cherchesov had the choice of Spartak, FC Alania Vladikavkaz and CSKA after his former club FC Tirol Innsbruck went bankrupt. But the lure of moving to Spartak for the fourth time was just too strong.

Experienced hands
The former Tirol stalwart has also played for FC Spartak Vladikavkaz - the predecessor of Alania - FC Lokomotiv Moscow and Dinamo Dresden FC. Cherchesov must now battle for a starting place at Spartak with young Ukrainian international Maxym Levitsky.
