Article body
Live Manager is a match-specific game where you pick and manage a team of three players. You can make substitutions during live matches and earn points based on your players’ real-life performances.
Picking your players
Selecting the initial three players
To participate in a match, you need to select three players that are eligible to start the match. There are no restrictions on player selection, and you can create teams for all matches in the fixture list.
Managing your team
Once you have created a team for a match, you can return before kick-off to make changes. Unlimited changes can be made to the team before the start of the match.
Deadline
You can create your team and sub players right up until the end of each match, including extra time if applicable. Your team will earn points from the moment the team is created.
Live substitutions
Once the match is live, you can start making substitutions to your team. You can make a maximum of three substitutions per match. Multiple substitutions can be made at the same time, as long as you have enough substitutions available.
Once you make a substitution, the player coming on will start scoring points from the next minute of the match, and the player substituted out will stop scoring points from the minute they are substituted.
You can’t sub a player back in once you’ve subbed him out. If one of your players gets a red card in real life, you won’t be able to sub him out once he’s been sent off.
Scoring system
Your team will start scoring points once the match kicks off, and you’ll only score points when the player is part of your team. Your players will earn points during regulation time, added time and extra time. Penalty shoot-outs aren’t included.

Not conceding goals
Players get points for a clean sheet when their team doesn’t concede a goal when they’re on the pitch.
If a player has already been subbed off when their team concedes a goal (in real life), that player’s clean sheet bonus won’t be affected.
Red cards
If a player gets a red card, they’ll continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team after they’ve been sent off.
If a player gets a yellow card and then a red card, they’ll only be penalised for the red card.
Assists
A player gets points for an assist whenever he plays the final pass, cross, header or shot which leads to a goal being scored. This also applies to set plays (corners, free-kicks and throw-ins).
Players also get points for an assist if a goal is scored on the rebound when they’ve shot against the post, bar, goalkeeper or defender.
They’ll also get points for an assist when their pass, shot or cross leads to an own goal. Players that win a penalty won’t get points for an assist – instead, they’ll get two points for winning the penalty.
Only one player can get points for an assist for any one goal.
When a goal is scored from a solo run or dribble, no player will be credited with the assist.
Minutes played
To score points for some actions, players need to play a minimum of 60 full minutes, excluding added time. So if your player is substituted in the 60th minute, that will be counted as having played 59 minutes – and he won’t get the points for those actions.
Others
When matches go to extra time, players will keep scoring points throughout extra time. However, players don't score points for penalty shoot-outs.
Leagues
Private leagues
Private leagues give you the chance to battle for bragging rights among your friends, family and colleagues.
To create a league, go to ‘Leagues’ and select ‘Create league’. Then invite others to join by sharing the league code.
You can also reactivate your leagues from previous seasons in the ‘Leagues’ section.
There’s no limit on the number of teams in a league, but you can only join a maximum of 20 private leagues.
Public leagues
Your team will be automatically included in the following leagues:
- The overall leaderboard with all other players around the world
- A league with other players from your country
- A league with other players who support the same Champions League team as you
