Champions League Fantasy: matchday deadlines and free transfers

It’s been a long wait but the UEFA Champions League finally resumes this Friday. The unique format has had a knock-on effect to #UCLfantasy so here's all the deadlines and transfer allowances so that you don't miss a trick.

Matchday 8

Phase: round of 16 2nd legs
Deadline: Passed (substitutions and captain changes can still be made)
Free transfers: N/A

There are still four matches to be completed on Matchday 8, with those games taking place on Friday 7 August and Saturday 8 August. #UCLfantasy managers can make team substitution and captain changes up until kick-off on Friday, and then again prior to kick-off on Saturday. Points accumulated across these matches will then be added to your points tally from the four round of 16 second-leg matches that took place in March to make up your Matchday 8 total.

Matchday 9

Phase: quarter-finals
Deadline: Wednesday 12 August, 21:00 CET
Free transfers: unlimited

Once the round of 16 is completed on Saturday 8 August, all #UCLfantasy managers will be granted unlimited transfers prior to the quarter-finals, which take place between 12 and 15 August. Transfers must be completed by kick-off in the first quarter-final at 21:00 CET on Wednesday 12 August; after that deadline normal substitutions and captain changes can be made between each gameday. A maximum of five players from the same club can be selected in your squad of 15.

Matchday 10

Phase: semi-finals
Deadline: Tuesday 18 August, 21:00 CET
Free transfers: 5

Following the completion of the quarter-finals on Saturday 15 August, #UCLfantasy managers will be able to make five free transfers prior to the semi-finals, which take place on Tuesday 18 August and Wednesday 19 August. Four points will be deducted from your total for each additional transfer made beyond this allowance. Transfers must be completed by 21:00 CET on 18 August, after which time substitutions and captain changes can be made between the two gamedays as per usual. A maximum of six players from the same club can be selected in your squad of 15.

Matchday 11

Phase: final
Deadline: Sunday 23 August, 21:00 CET
Transfer allowance: 5

Following the second semi-final on Wednesday 19 August, #UCLfantasy managers will be granted five free transfers prior to the final, which takes place on Sunday 23 August. Again, each additional transfer will cost you a four-point deduction. Transfers must be completed by kick-off at 21:00 CET on 23 August. A maximum of eight players from the same club can be selected in your squad of 15.

Boosters

#UCLfantasy managers who have not yet used their Boosters can do so from Matchday 9 onwards.

Fantasy Finals league

All existing #UCLfantasy managers have been entered into the new Fantasy Finals league, which will begin from the quarter-finals (Matchday 9) onwards. This will also allow new users to compete on an even keel with existing managers.
