Expert predictions

Matthew Howarth, Man. City reporter: City were a joy to behold in the second half in Paris, but they will need to match those extraordinary levels on Tuesday against a team who have defeated some of Europe’s biggest names on their own turf this term. The foundations are firmly in place from the Citizens’ perspective, but the tie is still too close to call.

Chris Burke, Paris reporter: This tie is far from over for a Paris side that has saved its best performances this season for tough away games – think Barcelona, Bayern and of course Manchester itself, where they defeated United in December. The visitors will also take confidence from their dominant first half against City as they desperately seek another shot at the trophy.

View from the camps

Josep Guardiola, Man. City manager: “[There are] the same dangers as the first leg [...] Paris can change their shape, their manager is so clever. I don't know what they are going to do. The desire to reach the final is normal, we've never been before here. We must focus on ourselves to read [the game], stick together in the bad moments, suffer together. We will try to impose our game as much as possible. We must defend well, be patient, and try to score goals.”

Mauricio Pochettino, Paris coach: "In football you need to believe. We will try to win and score goals. Of course we are under a little bit of pressure, but in football you need to try."
