UCL Fantasy Football: Goalkeepers

Ederson and Edouard Mendy have consistently been two of the highest Fantasy scorers this season – so who should you pick for the final?

With two English teams set to fight it out for European supremacy, the choices are narrowing down in terms of #UCLfantasy options but UEFA.com are on hand to examine the remaining goalkeepers.

Highlights: Manchester City 2-0 Paris

The semi-final exits of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid mean Fantasy managers who had Keylor Navas (48 points) and Thibaut Courtois (40) will have to find a replacement for the final, although the two that remain are the highest scorers left in the game this season.

Manchester City first-choice keeper Ederson (€6.0m) will line up in goal for Josep Guardiola's side on Matchday 13 as they make their first ever appearance in a UEFA Champions League final. The Brazilian has featured in 11 of City's 12 European games this season, keeping seven clean sheets along the way, with his highest #UCLfantasy score coming on Matchday 7 when he accrued seven points in a 2-0 victory over Mönchengladbach.

City's incredible defensive display against Paris

Of his overall score of 52 #UCLfantasy points, 28 of those were gained through clean sheets, whilst only two came through Ederson's 16 shot saves. Of the remaining two goalkeepers, Ederson is the lesser-owned stopper, so for those #UCLfantasy managers looking to bring in players throughout their squad that can see them make points up on their mini-league rivals, the Manchester City man may prove a tempting option on Matchday 13.

For Chelsea, goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (€5.5m) will be between the sticks in the final and when examining the former Rennes stopper's statistics, it is no surprise that he is currently a higher owned #UCLfantasy asset than Ederson. Mendy boasts eight more Fantasy points having accumulated 60 points compared to the Brazilian's 52 having also featured in 11 of 12 matchdays this season.

Highlights: Chelsea 2-0 Real Madrid

Chelsea have been defensively solid through this season's UEFA Champions League campaign and Mendy has played a huge part in that, racking up eight clean sheets and 31 saves. With Manchester City having scored twice in all six of their knockout stage games this season, their imposing attack will likely give the Senegal international the chance to add to his save tally, opening up a potential avenue for points on Matchday 13. Since Thomas Tuchel arrived in London, Chelsea have recorded 18 clean sheets in all competitions with Mendy responsible for 13 of those and with just two goalkeepers to choose from in the final, it will be no surprise to see Mendy as the highest owned #UCLfantasy asset in his position.
