With several strikers having played key roles so far in the group stage, UEFA.com picks out some options that #UCLfantasy managers will be eyeing up ahead of Matchday 3.
Leading the way on 28 #UCLfantasy points is Sébastien Haller (€8.7m), who followed up his four-goal haul in Ajax's opener with a further strike against Beşiktaş last time out. The Matchday 3 encounter with Dortmund certainly has the potential to produce goals and Haller, along with team-mates Steven Berghuis (€8.0m) and Dušan Tadić (€8.5m), could capitalise again in an attack-minded Ajax side.
Salzburg youngster Karim Adeyemi (€7.1m) has been turning heads this season and produced the biggest #UCLfantasy haul among forwards on Matchday 2, with his 15 points taking him to 24 for the season overall. The German has developed something of a knack for winning penalties, earning four of them already, while he is the only recipient of two Player of the Match trophies so far. A hat-trick of awards against Wolfsburg on Matchday 3 would further delight his burgeoning #UCLfantasy ownership.
It is no surprise to see Robert Lewandowski (€11.6m) near the top of the #UCLfantasy point-scoring charts having found the net twice in each of Bayern's Group E fixtures to date. Matchday 3 takes the 33-year-old to a Benfica side who are yet to concede in the group but with Lewandowski having scored nine goals in his last six UEFA Champions League games, the prolific Pole remains one of the most sought-after #UCLfantasy forwards.
Lionel Messi (€11.0m) and Cristiano Ronaldo (€11.0m) have been sharing the European stage for well over a decade now and the two highest scorers in UEFA Champions League history both found the net again on Matchday 2. Messi struck his first goal for Paris Saint-Germain with a sublime effort against last season's finalists Manchester City giving his Fantasy owners hope of further returns against Leipzig, while Ronaldo made it two goals from two games with his dramatic added-time winner against Villarreal and is up against Italian side Atalanta next, again at Old Trafford.
One striker who many #UCLfantasy managers will be eager to see return on Matchday 3 is Erling Haaland (€11.0m). The Dortmund man – who has scored 11 goals in eight appearances for his club in all competitions this season – has missed his side's last three competitive fixtures but could be available to line up against Ajax.
Romelu Lukaku (€10.5m) made a blistering start to his second career at Chelsea though the goals have dried up a little of late. The Belgian scored the winner against Zenit on Matchday 1 but the Blues failed to find the net against Juventus last time out so a home game against Malmö, who have lost both their Group H games to date and conceded seven goals, could be just the thing. Lukaku still features in a considerable amount of #UCLfantasy teams and his owners will be tempted to keep faith with the frontman for the back-to-back fixtures against the Swedish side.
