Champions League Fantasy Football: Midfielders

After some huge Fantasy scores were recorded by midfielders last time out, UEFA.com picks out a few names who could offer a similar output on Matchday 4.

Pick your Fantasy side for Matchday 4
Highlights: Benfica 0-4 Bayern

Benfica will fear the worst if Leroy Sané (€9.1m) is in the Bayern starting line-up again after the winger produced a stunning 18-point haul against them on Matchday 3. The German international helped himself to two goals – one from outside the box – and an assist and is currently the highest scoring player in #UCLfantasy with 41 points. A double-up on Bayern midfielders will surely tempt some as Sané's team-mate Serge Gnabry (€10.1m) has produced attacking returns on all three matchdays to date and has been finding the net on a regular basis in both domestic and international colours.

Mohamed Salah (€10.6m) just can't stop scoring at the moment, the Egyptian having found the net in ten consecutive Liverpool games at the time of writing. He has five goals in the UEFA Champions League this season with two of those coming at Atlético on Matchday 3. With the Spanish side visiting Anfield next, Salah looks more than capable of continuing his stunning form.

Highlights: Chelsea 4-0 Malmö

It wasn't only premium-priced midfielders who were among the points on Matchday 3. A large part of the appeal of Jorginho (€6.1m) is his prowess from the penalty spot and the Italian international duly converted two spot kicks against Malmö. Seven ball recoveries and the Player of the Match award also contributed to Jorginho's Matchday 3 score of 18 points, and it is no surprise that his ownership currently stands at a lofty 27%.

Those looking for a Chelsea midfielder with greater differential appeal would do well to consider Mason Mount (€7.5m). The England international will be full of confidence having scored his first hat-trick in Chelsea colours on 23 October, and looks an enticing option for the return fixture against Malmö.

Highlights: Salzburg 3-1 Wolfsburg

Salzburg's Noah Okafor (€5.0m) is another budget darling who excelled last time out with two goals and a Player of the Match performance against Wolfsburg. His ownership is likely to rise significantly given he is operating as a striker and has struck up an excellent partnership with Karim Adeyemi. Nicolas Seiwald (€4.6m) is an even cheaper option in the Salzburg midfield and has amassed 18 ball recoveries so far, also producing his first attacking return of the competition on Matchday 3 with the assist for his side's first goal.

Manchester City have a plethora of midfield options but Phil Foden (€8.0m) has been leading the charge lately. The England youngster followed up his assist against Club Brugge on Matchday 3 with two goals and an assist against Brighton in the Premier League in the next game, meaning his current #UCLfantasy ownership of 3% is likely to rise sharply in the near future.
