UEFA.com considers the credentials of the forwards who could prove lucrative #UCLfantasy assets on Matchday 4.
The irrepressible Lionel Messi (€11.1m) has played a starring role for Paris Saint-Germain across each of the last two matchdays in the UEFA Champions League. After scoring the second goal in a 2-0 victory at home to Manchester City on Matchday 2, Messi was among the attacking returns again last time out, scoring twice including an audacious Panenka penalty as Mauricio Pochettino's side triumphed 3-2 in a thriller against Leipzig. That gave Messi ten Fantasy points, making it 17 in the last two matches.
Messi was not the only Paris forward to profit from a #UCLfantasy perspective on Matchday 3. Kylian Mbappé (€10.6m), who had picked up an assist in the defeat of Manchester City, also got his name on the scoresheet against Leipzig and would have doubled that tally had he not missed a late penalty. The French international also won the penalty which Messi converted and was named Player of the Match, giving him a total score of nine Fantasy points. Mbappé now has a goal and two assists in this season's UEFA Champions League and, against a Leipzig side who have conceded the most goals of any side so far, is well placed to add to that tally on Matchday 4.
Ajax's Sébastien Haller (€8.9m) has been the breakout star of this season's group stage and made it six goals in three games as Erik ten Hag's men defeated Dortmund 4-0 on Matchday 3. An assist helped Haller to ten Fantasy points, taking his season total to 38, the highest among forwards and second among all players. Ajax have racked up 11 goals in their three Group C games and with Haller the focal point of their attack, he once again represents an attractive #UCLfantasy selection ahead of Matchday 4 when the Dutch champions travel to Dortmund.
Haller's club-mate Antony (€7.4m) is also worthy of consideration having recorded a goal, three assists and 12 ball recoveries to help him to a total of 22 points for the group stage so far.
Another player who continues to find the net regularly is Robert Lewandowski (€11.7m). The Bayern forward had to be patient on Matchday 3, but eventually scored his fifth goal of this year's group stage as the German champions ran out 4-0 winners at Benfica. With the Portuguese side in Munich on Matchday 4, Bayern and Lewandowski will be hoping to continue their recent goal glut, and the 35% of #UCLfantasy managers that own the Polish forward will be looking for him to add to the 29 points he has earned so far.
