Haaland and other players to score five

TUESDAY 11 APRIL

Erling Haaland (€11.0m) vs Bayern (H)

By far the most significant Fantasy story on Matchday 8 was Haaland's five goals against Leipzig, the Norwegian becoming just the third man in Champions League history to hit five in a game. His record-breaking 25-point Fantasy haul made all the difference to those who captained him, and the Manchester City striker raced to the top of the UEFA Champions League goalscoring charts as a result. The Premier League side now face Bayern, against whom Haaland scored on five occasions with former club Dortmund, although there are possible concerns around his fitness.

Gonçalo Ramos (€9.0m) vs Inter (H)

João Mário is an equally viable captaincy option from the Benfica ranks given his continued excellent form, but those looking for a differential skipper could do a lot worse than Ramos, who is also on a fine run. The 21-year-old has scored seven goals in his last seven appearances for the Portuguese Liga leaders, including two against Club Brugge in the Champions League round of 16 second leg. Ramos also registered an assist to earn 13 Fantasy points, only Haaland producing a higher total on Matchday 8. Benfica have also won their last eight matches in all competitions.

Karim Benzema: His goals vs Chelsea

WEDNESDAY 12 APRIL

Karim Benzema (€10.7m) vs Chelsea (H)

Should Fantasy managers need to make a captain switch for Wednesday's fixtures, Benzema is once again a leading option. The evergreen Frenchman scored in both of Real Madrid's round of 16 meetings with Liverpool, continuing his superb record in UEFA Champions League knockout games, and last season struck four goals in the tie against quarter-final opponents Chelsea at the same stage. The 35-year-old also recently hit his first hat-trick of the season against Real Valladolid in the Liga.

Rafael Leão (€8.5m) vs Napoli (H)

Napoli have been the standout Italian side this season both in the Champions League and Serie A, but in a recent dress rehearsal of their quarter-final tie, AC Milan produced a shock 4-0 win in Naples, a performance that could form the blueprint for their approach to their Champions League quarter-final. Rafael Leão represents a tempting armband choice as he scored twice in that convincing victory to make it four goal involvements in his last two games for club and country.
